"The licensing is kind of frustrating"
The pricing feels a bit stingy for just one license. I get that software costs money, but come on, it feels like you don’t get much for what you’re paying.

"Works really well between my Mac and iPad"
It’s been great for switching between my Mac and iPad. My edits sync easily, and I can just, you know, pick up on another device without any hassle.

"I really wanted to like Pixelmator, but..."
I really wanted to like Pixelmator, but the interface just feels kind of messy to me. A bunch of tools are tucked away in spots I wouldn’t have guessed, so I kept clicking around trying to find basic stuff. It looks nice at first, but using it got annoying fast.

"Easy to use with solid tools"
I’ve been using it for photo edits and small design projects, and it works really well for what I need. The layers and quick fixes are easy to handle, and the editing tools feel smooth without being overwhelming. Overall, I’m happy with it.
"I’ve been using Pixelmator mostly for quick photo..."
I’ve been using Pixelmator mostly for quick photo edits and getting images ready for my site, it’s been solid for that. The exports are the main thing I keep coming back for because the JPGs stay sharp, the colors don’t get strange, and PNGs usually look nice and clean too.
My only gripe is that some of the export settings can feel a little too tucked away or fiddly when I’m just trying to get something out quickly. It’s not a huge deal, but every now and then I wish the process was a bit more obvious or streamlined.
That said, the final files are consistently good, which matters more to me in the end. I’ve used other apps where the exported image looked softer than what I saw while editing, but Pixelmator does a good job matching the preview and keeping file sizes reasonable.

"Really solid for the price"
I’ve been really happy with Pixelmator so far. It does pretty much everything I need without costing a ton, and it’s easy to figure out. The layout looks clean too, and I really like that there’s no monthly subscription to deal with.

"I had an issue where Pixelmator wouldn’t..."
I had an issue where Pixelmator wouldn’t open one of my files, and I was sure I’d lost all my work. I reached out to support and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they got back to me. It didn’t feel like a generic copy-and-paste reply either, which immediately made me feel like I was in good hands.
They asked a couple of easy questions, walked me through what to try, and it actually worked. The whole exchange was calm, friendly, and reassuring, which made a stressful situation feel totally manageable. Huge credit to the support team — they clearly know what they’re doing and gave me a lot more confidence in using Pixelmator going forward

"Pretty easy to get going"
I opened it up and just started clicking around, and pretty much got everything done fast. I’m not saying I’m great with this kind of stuff, so if I figured it out that quickly, it must be simple enough for basically anyone.

Works fine most of the time, but sometimes just freezes out of nowhere. A bit annoying when it happens...

"I tried the AI cleanup and..."
I tried the AI cleanup and a few automations, it made editing way faster!! I didn’t have to spend the whole night messing with settings, which was such a relief

"Good Overall, But Took Some Time"
It’s a good product overall, but it was a little confusing to figure out at first. I did expect things to be a bit quicker, especially when trying to get help or responses, but once I got the hang of it, it worked fine.

"So slow after the update"
Not sure what changed, but it runs way too slow now. Editing is laggy and kind of frustrating... I’ll tap or make a change, and there’s this annoying delay before anything happens.

"Surprisingly easy with all my files"
I’ve been using pixelmator mainly because it just opens pretty much everything I throw at it, PSDs, PNGs, JPGs, and even a few odd TIFF files I expected to cause problems. I don’t have to waste time converting stuff first, which makes my day a lot less annoying. I’m always a little wary of relying on customer service when software gets weird, so I appreciate that this mostly just works without me needing to contact anyone.
